What is NebuServer exactly?
NebuServer is a desktop application for Windows and macOS that deploys NebuChat on your computer. It makes your local chat server reachable at a public address (like yourname.nebu.chat) so friends can connect from anywhere — all through a graphical interface, no terminal required.
Do I need to install anything on my server?
No. NebuServer is a hosted service — we run the relay infrastructure. You only install the lightweight desktop client (available for Windows and macOS) on the machine where your NebuChat server runs.
Is the free tier really free?
Yes. The free tier includes 3 user connections with no time limit, no credit card, and no data collection. If you need more than 3 concurrent connections, the Pro plan starts at $1.99/month.
How is my connection secured?
When you first launch the NebuServer app and log in, it automatically sets up secure authentication and registers your chat address — all behind the scenes. All connections to your chat server are encrypted. No passwords are ever transmitted. You can rotate credentials from the app's settings at any time.
Which platforms are supported?
